The Children of John Crawford & Mary Stevenson are:

Robert Crawford, born 21 October 1861, at Shuttle Street, Kilsyth . He died only 8 days after his first birthday from Smallpox which the wee soul suffered for 10 days. He died 29 October 1862 at Watter's Land, Kilsyth.

Janet Crawford on the 12th March 1863 at Watter's Land Kilsyth. She married Robert Henderson and died 24th march 1906 at 57 Quarrie Avenue, Glasgow.

Robert Crawford was born 31st December 1865 at Row, Knightswood, New Kilpatrick. So Mary and John had moved from Kilsyth between 1863 and 1865. Robert never married and he too died from Phthisis Pulmonalis after 3 months, only a few short years after his father on the 28th October 1905 at 2 Park Place, Maryhill, Glasgow. He was buried with his mother on the 30th October 1909 at Western Necropolis. Glasgow. Lair 1173 Section H. Robert had also been an Iron Stone Miner then a general labourer just before his death.

Next, Mary had fraternal twins. Helen Crawford was the eldest then her brother

James Crawford. They were born 5th November 1866 at Row, Knightswood, New Kilpatrick. Their grandmother, Helen Crawford, signed the birth certificates so she was probably staying with the family at the time.

William Crawford arrived on the 2nd November 1868 at 41 Whitelaw Street, Maryhill, Glasgow. Now the family were back to where John's roots were. Did he move back to the area because of his mother? William married Isabella Ross Russell.

John Crawford was born 20th August 1870 at 41 Whitelaw Street, Maryhill, Glasgow. He married Catherine Gardner.

Another set of twins was next but this time they were two boys. It is not know if they were identical twins. Thomas Crawford was the first born, 1st February 1873 at 41 Whitelaw Street, Maryhill, he married Margaret Reid, and Sarah Anderson. The next was

David Crawford. He married Margaret Major.

Jeanie Stevenson Crawford arrived 29th November 1877, this time at 135 Main Street, Maryhill. The family may have moved into a larger house as there had been a law passed which was to eliminate overcrowding. Jeanie married John Andrew.

Peter Crawford was the last child to be born on 21st March 1880 at 155 Main Street, Maryhill. He married Margaret Mitchell on the 5th January 1906 at 13 Allison Street, Glasgow. They had a still born child who was buried in the grand father's grave in November 1906. No other information can be found for Peter or his wife. It is my suspicions that they may have emigrated to New Zealand with a member of the Andrew family at about 1907.  It is now known that he did indeed go to New Zealand. Click on his name for his page.
