Mary Isabella Yuill McCracken

(1863-1927)

Mary Isabella Yuill McCracken was born 08 May 1863 in 45 Eglinton Street, Glasgow, and died 31 January 1927 in 9 Union Street, Stirling. She married James Buchanan 08 November 1887 in 37 Lynedoch Street, Glasgow, son of James Buchanan and Ann Breckenridge. In 1871 Mary was with her parents at 18 Melville Street, Glasgow. None of the McCracken family have been found on the UK census in 1881, however, there is a possibility that Mary was a domestic servant at East Montrose Street, Row, Dumbarton and worked for a retired clergyman, John Wilson. She worked at Garrockhill Road Laundry in 1907. This was off North Woodside Road and near where Napiershall pit had been. In 1887 she lived at 92 Abington Street, Glasgow (Garscube) and on 13 May 1907, 16 Carrickcarden Street c/o Buchanan. Then in 1927, 3 Logie Road, Causewayhead, Stirling.

Mary had a daughter before her marriage to James Buchanan. See link left.

James was at 14 Gayfield St, Barony, Lanark, Scotland in 1881. At this time he was married to Margaret Coventry. He was a Journeyman Cabinet Maker.

For James and Margaret see below.

James and Mary had no children. This is the end of the line for Mary McCracken.
