Janet Crawford

(1863-1906)

Janet Crawford was born 12 March 1863 in Watters Land, Kilsyth and died 24 March 1906 in 57 Quarrie Avenue. She married Robert Hosie Henderson on the  27 April 1881 in 153 Main Street, Maryhill, Glasgow, son of William Henderson and Ann Stevenson. He was born 19 May 1856 in Milton, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, and died 6 April 1933 in 133 Balornock Road, Glasgow.

Robert Henderson was her cousin. His mother Ann Stevenson was Janet's mother, Mary Stevenson's sister.

In 1881 Janet was at 127 main Street, Maryhill where she was a domestic servant. In 1891 they were at 29 Brown Street, Glasgow. Robert was at 123 Stobcross Street, Glasgow in 1861 and at 52 Cheapside Street, Glasgow in 1871. In 1856 he worked as a Papermaker (journeyman) In 1871 he was a message boy then in 1881 until 1887 a Book Binder (Journeyman) but between 1890 - 1922,he was a Paintwork Labourer. Between 12 June 1896 - 1899, he was an Oil & Colour Work Labourer (Paintworks) When he died in 1933 his occupation was Formerly, Lead Work Labourer. The family were at 52 Cheapside Street, Maryhill, Glasgow in 1881.Robert was living at 24 Grove Street, Glasgow when he died from Chronic Bronchitis, Myocarditis, Cardiac Failure. Janet died from phthisis pulmonalis only 4 and a half years after her father.

In 1891 and 1901 they were at 29 Brown Street. Janet's father was with them and her youngest brother, Peter was also there in 1891 but was with another sister in 1901.

Robina Henderson was born 13 July 1890, 34 Carrick Street, Glasgow and died 2 January 1971, Woodlee Hospital, Lenzie.

Jane Crawford Henderson was born 12 June 1896, 54 Scott Street, Port Dundas, Glasgow and died 18 August 1905, 57 Carrick Street, Glasgow.

John Henderson was born 22 October 1899, 17 Ferguson Street, Glasgow.
