Jeanie Crawford
was born on the 27th April 1875 at Roughrigg, New Monkland
and died, after a brief illness on the 19th June 1962 at East Brady, Pa. She
was buried on the 22nd June 1962 at Mt. Pleasant. She emigrated to America with her parents.
Joe Ritson
remembered that Jeanie married a man called Mackey and from this little bit
of information I was then able to to find a bit more.
NOTE - the
surname is sometimes spelled differently, e.g. MacKie.
William Mackey
was born in Scotland about 1871. He married Jeanie between 1891 and 1893.
In 1900 the
family lived in Henderson, Jefferson, Pennsylvania and William was a coal
miner. In 1920 they had also moved to Brady's Bend where William was a
Foreman in the coal mine. They were still there in 1930 but he worked as a
foreman on the Railroad. Jeanie was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Lutheran
Church, Chicora, R.D.
Children of William Mackey and Jeanie Crawford are:
David L Mackey, born 16th October 1893 and died in March
1984.
William C Mackey, born 19th April 1897 and died May 1968.
Mary Mackey, born about February 1900. She married a Mr
Meredith.
Margaret Mackey, born about 1905. She married a Mr Dunmyre
John C Mackey, born 14th April 1909 and died August 1973.
