This James Gordon was probably the one
born on 21st March 1761 and christened 29 March 1761
in Culross, Perthshire, and died 9 July 1893 at Pilmuir, Clackmannan. He married
Elizabeth Vannan 23 November 1788 in Clackmannan,
Clackmannanshire, daughter of James Vannan and Margaret Niven.
James was a Crofter.

and christened 21 June 1789, Alloa, Clackmannan.
She died 18 Nov 1875 at Clackmannan.
Jane (known as Jean) Gordon
was born 8
May 1791and christened 2 May 1791, Clackmannan,
Clackmannanshire. She died 7 January 1873,
Candle Street, Alloa.
Elizabeth Gordon was christened

January 1792, Clackmannan and died 8 August
1871, Devon, Parish of Clackmannan.
Helen Gordon was born
24 May 1796,
Alva/Logie, and christened 3 June 1796, Alva
there is also a christening record for her 29 May 1796, Logie.
Logie was in the County of Perth
and Alva in the County of Stirling. Therefore Helen must have been born in
Menstrie which came between the two.
Daughter Gordon was born
4 February
1797 and christened 11 February 1797,
Clackmannan. It is not known what became of this child
but it is presumed to have died.
