William McEwan

William McEwan was born about 1813 in Clackmannan, and died 19 Jul 1887 in Sauchie, Parish of Clackmannan. He married Helen Miller 17 December 1844 in Clackmannan, daughter of Robert Millar and Margaret Bowie. She was born about 1826 in Alloa, and died 20 Jul 1904 in Main Street, Sauchie, Alloa.

In 1858 William was a labourer and a woollen weaver between 1871 and 1881. In 1871 he was living with his family at Devon Iron Works and in 1881 South Side of Street, Clackmannan. He died from a Cerebral Haemorrhage 3 days.

Helen Millar was known as Ellen. In 1881 she was a washer and dresser which might have been to do with the weaving industry.

Alexander McEwan was born about 1847 at Clackmannan and died soemtime after 1873 as he signed his nephews birth certificate in that year. He also signed his grand mother's death certificate. He was a woollen weaver and at Devon Iron Works in 1871.

Margaret McEwan was born about 1849 in Clackmannan and died sometime after 1902. She had a daliance with Robert Rutherford and then married John Hunter 21 Mar 1873, Fishcross, Clackmannanshire. She was a Pithead worker between 1871-1873 at Devon Iron Works.

William McEwan was born about 1854 at Clackmannan.

Helen McEwan was born 02 Mar 1856, Powside, Clackmannan and died 14 May 1932, 73 High Street, Tillicoultry. She married William Stewart 20 Sep 1878, Clackmannan.

Elizabeth McEwan was born 05 Apr 1858, Powside, Clackmannan.

Robert McEwan was born 06 May 1860, Old Sauchie, Clackmannanshire and died 30 Jan 1940, 13 Main Street, Sauchie, Alloa. He married Catherine McGregor and then Isabella Edith Barker.
