Gwendoline Beatrice Isaac was born in January 1901
in Chickerell, Weymouth, Dorset. She married William
Davenport in the last quarter of 1917 at Weymouth.
William was
known as Bill and was from the Bury, Lancashire area.
He worked in the mills. It is
possible he met Gwendoline whilst on a trip to Weymouth
as there was a direct train from Manchester to Weymouth.
It is also possible that her niece, Gwen Knight, also went to
stay with them for a while.
Child of
Gwendoline Isaac and William Davenport is:
Betty Davenport was born in 1920 at
8 Booth Road, Little Lever, Bolton. She married
Ronald Jackson at Heywood in 1942. They
moved to
to Allstree, Derbyshire.
Betty had a son and
daughter, Keith and Shirley, whom I would like
to put back in touch with their mothers cousin.
They used to live in Allstree, Derbyshire.
In 1938
Betty's cousin
Gwen
Knight stayed with the family at Dumer's
Lane, Bury, whilst she was in charge of the
Odeon Cinema there.
