Charles Lane Knight was
born 17th February 1864 in Bara-head, St. Germans, Cornwall, and
died in 1945 in Plymouth (age 81). He married Laura Annie
Trimble 12th April 1888 in Register Office, Stoke, Devon,
daughter of William Trimble and Jemima May .
She was born during 1867 in Tideford St Germans, Cornwall, and
died in 1935 in Plymouth.
Charles was at Mandlin Gate, Menhenoit,
Cornwall with aunt and uncle in 1871. His father had died
and
left his mother with a young family. She had to work to support
them so the children were 'farmed out', Charles to an aunt and
uncle. By 1881 he was at 38 Fore Street, St Germans, Cornwall
and was a Farm Labourer. He was in the Royal Navy in 1881
and must have been at sea in 1901 as his wife is listed as
married but he is nowhere to bee found in the census. In August
1888 he was a Stoker on board HMS Curlew.
Laura was at Hestlyn Bridge, St Germans,
Cornwall and then at Tideford Village, St Germans, Cornwall in
