Harriet Maria Williams was born
about 1846 in St Germans, Cornwall. She married William
Sugars
in 1867 in St Germans. She was with her parents at Cutmere, St Germans,
in 1851. They have not yet been found on the 1861 census but in
1871 they were at Mandlin Gate, Menhenoit, Cornwall where
William was working as a coachman.
Also on the 1871 census
is Charles Lane Knight, a
nephew. This is Harriet's sister's son. i.e.
Sarah Ann Williams who married
James Knight. Both of these sisters were married in St Germans.
I have not yet been
able to find this family on other censuses which is probably due
to errors in transcriptions with the surname. the family were
actually found listed as Lugars! the name is definitely Sugars.
No children have been
found although there is at least one possible son, John
Williams Sugars born in 1871 in St Germans. This is not
confirmed and is only a possibility until find otherwise.
