Alexander Christie was born 11 April 1847 in Bellyeoman, Townhill, Fife, Scotland, and died 16 March 1894 in 16 Montgomery Street, Ardrossan. He married Isabella Wallace Reid 01 July 1869 in Knabbie Street, Dunfermline, Fife, daughter of Andrew Reid and Jane Wallace. She was born about 1850 in Dunfermline, Fife, and died 13 April 1898 in 16 Montgomery Street, Ardrossan.

Alexander was a  book keeper at the colliery between 1869 and 1881. He was also a sawmill manager. He lived at Rose Street Cottage, Dunfermline in 1881. He died from arterial pressure and dilation of heart which he had for a year. Isabella died from apoplexy after 5 days.

James was a grocer's assistant in 1904 and then a coal miner in 1906. They lived at 4 Flemington Street, Craigmont on 3 November 1904.
