John Blair was born on the 6th July 1795 and christened 06 July 1795, Colmonell, Ayr in Colmonell, Ayr and died 02 October 1872 in 32 Shore Road, Stirling. He marreid Jane Alexander before 1818. She died 25 June 1856.

Generation No. 2

Jane Maria/Moriah Blair, was born 15 May 1821 in Girvan, Ayrshire, and died 07 February 1909 in Melrose House, Common Hill, Fownhope, Herefordshire. She married Robert Stevenson 13 January 1845 in Clackmannan, Clackmannan, son of William Stevenson and Helen Grindlay. He was born 13 January 1817 in Cumbernauld, Dumbartonshire, and died 01 May 1888 in Melrose House, Common Hill, Fownhope, Herefordshire.

Jane appears on the 1851 and 1861 census' with Robert and her family. She is not with him in Stirling but turns up again in Awre with him and then as a widow in Fwonehope in 1891 and 1901 census. She is buried alongside Robert in Fownehope. It is not apparent why they moved to Herefordshire but a clue may be in the name of the House, Melrose House. Neither Robert or Janes family were from Melrose in the Scottish Borders but a grand daughter married a Pringle and there was a connection to the area via the Pringle family.

John James Moncrieff Blair was born 20 January 1827 and Christened on the 10 February 1827 in Drymen, Stirlingshire. He married Mary McClymont 25 April 1867 in Girvan, Ayrshire. She was born Abt. 1843 in Girvan, Ayr, Scotland. In 1881 he was a Draper & Clothier Employing 5 Men 9 Boys 9 Women and lived at The Avenue, Burnbank, Girvan, Ayr, Scotland.

Marion Jane Blair, b. 06 April 1877, Burnbank, Girvan, Ayrshire and died 14 October 1939, 3 Woodside Terrace, Glasgow. She married Albert Mitchell. She lived at 18 Henrietta Street, Glasgow in 1939 and Albert was a Mining Engineer living at 18 Henrietta Street, Glasgow.

Jane Maria Alexandrina Stevenson was born 14 November 1845 in Clackmannan, Clackmannanshire, and died 21 March 1934 in Minden, Peebles. She married William Christie 31 December 1872 in Stirling, son of Andrew Christie and Mary Stevenson. He was born 12 May 1845 in Dunfermline, Fife, and died 05 April 1923 in 17 Ainslie Place, Edinburgh.

Dyson Blair was born 01 March 1874 in Burnbank Villa, Girvan, Ayrshire, and died 06 October 1929 in Waulk Mill, Kirkcowan. He married Jane Elizabeth Milroy.
