Ellison Stevenson

(1859-1921)

Ellison Ann Stevenson was born 2 April 1859 in Park Farm, Clackmannan, and died 28 July 1921 in 12 Claremont Terrace, Glasgow. She married Percy Charles Higgins on the 8th June 1907 in St Mary's Church, Fownehope, Herefordshire, son of Charles Higgins and Julia Alberta. He was born 28 March 1879 and christened 27 April 1879 in Fownehope, Herefordshire, and died 27 March 1918 in France.

Elison was at 25 Broad Street, Alloa in 1861, 11 Forth Place, Stirling in 1871, 11 Abercromby Place, Stirling in 1881 and Melrose House, Fownhope, Hereford in 1891 and 1901 with her parents. Her residence on 28 July 1921, Melrose House, Fownehope, Hereford.

There is an obituary in the Hereford Times, page 4, for Ellison. She was buried 30 July 1921, Church Graveyard, Fownehope, Herefordshire. She died from  Carcinoma of Ovary, Multiple metastatic growths.

Percy Higgins was residing at Wye View, Fownehope, Herefordshire in 1901. He was a Private, 10th Batt. The Queens West Surrey Regiment during WW1, prior to which he was an architect. He was killed during the war and was buried at ARRAS MEMORIAL Pas de Calais, France Grave or Reference Panel Number: Bay 2.

They never had any children. Ellison was a good few years senior to Percy.

HIGGINS - STEVENSON - June 8th at St Mary's Church Fownehope by the Rev. P. G. Nott, Percy Charles, youngest son of Charles Higgins, Wye View, to Elison Ann, youngest daughter of the late R. Stevenson and Mrs Stevenson, Melrose House, Fownehope.
