Jemima Alexandrina Stevenson
(1853-1916)
Jemima Alexandrina Stevenson was born about 1853 in Park
Farm, Clackmannan, Clackmannanshire, and died March 1916 in Stockport. She
married John Halliday on the 26th April 1877 At the Parish Church, Lydney,
Gloucestershire. He was born about 1846 in Scotland and was a draper. John was
the son of William Halliday, farmer, and resided at Chorlton on medlock when he
married.
Jemima was at 25 Broad Street, Alloa and then 11 Forth Place,
Stirling with her parents. When she married she was at Lydney, Gloucestershire,
presumably with her parents. In 1881 she was living at 79 Grosvenor Street, Chorlton on Medlock, Lancashire.
By 1891 she was residing at 41 High Ardwick, Manchester, then in 1901,
Grove House, Cheadle, Chester. On 7 July 1911, Mayfield, Cheadle Hulme, Stockport. John
was a Travelling Draper and then a Manchester Merchant in 1901.
Jemima and John had the following children:-
William Graham Halliday was born in 1878 at
Manchester.
Stevenson Halliday was born 1881 at Manchester.
He was
a clerk.
John Halliday was born 1883 at Manchester. He was a
Shipping Clerk. He MIGHT have married Emily Banks in 1915 at Chorlton.
Alice Halliday was born 1884 at Manchester.
She MIGHT have married in 1905.
Balfour Halliday was born 1887 in Manchester and died 4
July 1917. He was a Second
Lieutenant, 1st/7th Bn., West Yorkshire
Regt. (Prince of Wales's Own) and is buried at IV. D. 7. ESTAIRES COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION.
Robert Halliday was
born 1888 at Manchester.
