Margaret Stevenson

Margaret Stevenson was born about 1829,
perhaps at St Sylvester, Quebec, Canada. She was listed there on the 1851 census
where she was a dress maker. She died on the 9th October 1857 and was buried 12
October 1857 in the Protestant Cemetery, St Sylvester.
She married the Reverend William Scott, minister of the
gospel at St Eustache, Canada. on the 5th October 1853 'At the residence of the
bride's father.'
According to the legal papers in 1913, Margaret was 'the only lawful child' of John
Stevenson.

Isabella Stevenson Scott, born 27 January 1856 in
St Sylvester. She married Christopher
Cairns.
Margaret Stevenson Scott, born 30th August 1857 in
St Sylvester.

According to information found on the Canadian
Census for 1881, it seems that William Scott was born in Ireland about 1826. The
family were at Lot 34, Queens, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Canada. William was
a Presbyterian Clergyman.

Margaret Stevenson Scott, born about 1858, Quebec.
After Margaret died, William re-married Mary Ann Wilson
on the 23 May 1865 at Chalmer's Church, Quebec. This is obviously where the
Margaret Wilson comes in, who is listed with John on the census in 1861.

Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. Laura moved to Boston, MA, USA.
Walter Scott, born 10 October 1869, Quebec.
