Margaret Stevenson was born about 1848 in Belfast, Ireland, and died Aft. 7 July 1911. She married George Smith about 1881. He was born about 1852 in Kingsthorpe, Northampton, and died Aft. 7 July 1911.

Margaret was residing at 15 Waterloo Road, Habergham, Burnley, with her family in 1891. In 1911, the last known address for her was Granview Cottage, Torphichen Street, Bathgate, Scotland. No death records for her have been found in Scotland so she must have gone back to England. George was a carter.

The family have now been located on the 1901 census at 57 Albert Street, Burnley, Lancashire. George is a builder's carter. Thomas is a house painter and John is a grocer's shop assistant. Ethel is not listed so she must have died as a baby.
