Jesse Wyle
Jesse has been recorded as Wyle and Wyld.
Jesse
Wyle was born about 1832 in Shalbourne, Berkshire. He
married Mary Jane Rolfe 25 May
1855 in Parish Church, Ham, Wiltshire, daughter of Abel Rolfe and Elizabeth. She
was Christened 15 January 1832, Ham, Wiltshire, England and died June 1923
in Hungerford, Wilts.
From the census
information it is seen that Jesse always worked as a carter on a farm, or farms,
at Buttermere. Although he was born in Shalbourne, it changed from Berkshire to
Wiltshire with the county boundary change.

Children of Jesse Wyle and Mary
Rolfe are:
Charles Wyle,
christened on 9 September 1855, Henley, Wiltshire and died 27 October 1906, Tilshead, Wilts.
Jane Wyle was born
about 1856 at
George Wyle was born
about 1860 at Ham, Berkshire and died in 1924 in Brentford.
Sarah Wyle was born
about 1862 Buttermere, Henley, Wiltshire.
Emma Wyle was born
about 1865 at Buttermere, Henley, Wiltshire.
The children of Jesse seem to have some inclination towards London.
George moved there and married Fanny Cleaver in 1885. A Thomas
Shesby Cleaver and Emma Wyle were witness to his marriage. Emma would have been George's
sister, therefore, Jesse's daughter.
There is a marriage for
Sarah Wyle at Brentford in
1887 and also a marriage for Thomas Shesby Cleaver same date and place. They must have
married each other, this means that a brother and sister married a brother and sister.
There is also a marriage for an Emma Wyle at Brentford in the same year, 1887.
So it looks as if three of Jesse's children migrated to the Brentford area of
London. |
