TITANIC
This chap has no connection to any of the Wyle family. I
encountered this piece of information whilst looking for Wyle's and thought it
interesting enough to add here. If anyone comes to the site through searching
the Wilde surname they might find it.
Mr Henry Tingle Wilde
Henry was born on Saturday 21st September 1872 and
was 39 when the Titanic sank. He was a widower and lived at 24 Grey Road, Walton,
Merseyside, England.
He signed on as 'Deck Crew' at Southampton and was
a Chief Officer on Board the Titanic but had previously served on board the Olympic.
He was one of the many who lost their lives when
the Titanic sank and his body was never recovered.
There is a memorial to him at his family grave at
Kirkdale Cemetery, Fazakerley, Liverpool, England.
