The following information may not be correct but it is listed here in the hope that someone has more information which has, or can be verified. Back this far, it is difficult to be absolutely certain that the families are linked together. Only when a conflict occurs, i.e. somebody having children to two spouses over the same dates, will these problem be identified. If you can help please contact me below.

George Mankin was born about 1670. This is an estimate assuming that Ambrose is his son. Ambrose was born in 1711 and may have been the eldest or the youngest child as well as any position in between. It is perfectly acceptable to have a woman have children over a 20 year period. This means George could have married at any time between 1690 and 1710. From my experience, I have found that people did not marry at a very young age back then; let us assume that George could have married between the ages of 20 to 30, then he would be born between 1660 and 1680.

Ambrose Mankin, born 9th April 1711 at Kirby Sigston, Yorkshire. He married Jane Cowper, 6 November 1740 in Brafferton, Yorkshire. She was born about 1711.
